The Frogs

txt\fr-1.txt
When we first discovered the pond the thing that impressed us most was the abundance of frogs.

Walking through the bush to the water's edge it often sounded like a large animal was leaping into the water (this turned out to be several hundred frogs leaping simultaniously from the shore) and when we paddled the pond we were somewhat put off by the scummy bays until we noticed that most of the "scum" had eyes.

Here are the frogs we think we've identified, mostly from their calls.

We have joined the Frogwatch Program of the Ecological Monitoring and Assessment Network and The Canadian Nature Federation

Details as to the species actually there and their abundance will be forthcoming as the summer progresses.
