The coordinates in the table below indicate nails used to stabalize the mosaics where they were seperating from the structure above. There are at least three different types of nail in evidence suggesting this type of intervention was attempted at different times in the past.

The heads of these nails have been

painted to match the mosaics with varying degrees of success. From my perch atop the ciborium it was only the different heads
Round and
Rectangular that distinguished them. The good ones are of copper though there are some of iron that have caused problems.

An interesting sidelight to this mapping exercise was that a thermal study done earlier showed the nails but not enough of the mosaics to get a firm correlation. This survey should supply a solid geometric reference against which to calibrate the other study.
