ASCix will produce three categories of report:
and will eventually offer them in two different formats:
Comma Separated (.CSV)
Formatted for printing.
Currently only the Default and Standard reports are available and those only in comma separated

- Full Catalogue Report
This report is automatically maintained with every transaction and is stored in comma
separated format in the Catalogue directory as are all the CSV reports. It is expected that this
will be a primary access point for a future researcher to decipher the data because of the
universality of the comma separated format as a data exchange medium.

Standard Reports Form
- Update Default Reports : _Catalogue, _Authors, _Files
Does exactly what it says, making sure that these files are up to date.
- Create Short Catalogue Report :
This will create a shortened version of the Full Catalogue report without the redundant
data necessary to rebuild the data set. The fields displayed are:
- FileName, Keywords, Caption, Author, Date & Comments
This is the same format that will be used for all the other Optional Standard reports
- Create Code Reports : [Code]
Selecting this button will create a report for each Code referenced in the Catalogue.
It will have the same fields as the Short Catalogue report and each will be named after the Code
to which it refers. (i.e. "CODE.CSV")
- Create Keyword Reports : -[Keyword]
Selecting this button will create a report for each Keyword referenced in the Catalogue.
It will have the same fields as the Short Catalogue report and each will be named after the
Keyword to which it refers and will be preceded by a dash. (i.e. "-KEYWORD.CSV")
- Create All Reports
This will create
the reports listed above.
- Update Existing Reports
This will refresh all reports that have previously been prepared. This should be selected
when the message below appears on the Main Menu.
The Custom Report Form is not yet implemented but it will be similar to one in an earlier
version of the cataloguer

functions, and to build tables if
is being used, as well as to Text Files if so desired.
- Giving it a Name
- Selecting which fields of the database you want included
- Specifying a field on which to sort and the order of that sort
- Defining simple SQL queries to collect the data
